Payment path with Psych Corner
With Medicare $123.65
With a mental health care plan from your GP, you are entitled to 10 medicare claimable sessions per calendar year. Each session you are entitled to $136.35 rebate.
A GP referral is required. To arrange a referral for psychological support see your own GP.
Private fee $260
The rate listed above applies only if you will not be claiming a rebate with Medicare. There is no need for a GP referral if you pay privately.
There will be a claimable portion of the fee if a client attends therapy with a referral and Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) obtained by a GP. The initial referral will authorize 6 sessions, and you can review / extend the plan with your referrer after that. However, there is a cap of max 10 rebates per calendar year (i.e., refreshes every 1st of January).
The Medicare rebate can increase once you passed the Medicare Safety Net. Alternatively, clients can also fund the sessions privately.and through private health insurances. The coverage and rates vary considerably. Please check with your insurer.
Payment Method
We can only accept credit or debit card payments – processed electronically, like making an online purchase. This means we require your card details, so cards “stored” in smart phones for tap-and-go may not suffice.
Psych Corner charges $260 per session (50 min) and $300 (60 min) for the initial session.
Cancellation Policy
To cancel an appointment, contact by noon at least 2 business days before your appointment. This allows us to have a reasonable chance of offering your time slot to someone else during our working hours. This means Monday appointments will have to be rescheduled by Thursday morning, while Tuesday appointments will have to be cancelled by Friday morning.
To assist, we send SMS reminders roughly 72 hours prior to each appointment. You are welcome to respond directly to that text if you are no longer able to make that appointment.
We respect some clients may still find the cancellation fee unacceptable. The alternative arrangement we can offer is to avoid having time reserved, and either just call on the day one wants an appointment to see if anything is available, or ask to be contacted when we need to fill a time slot within a day. This way, neither party has to accept more risk and cost than they are comfortable with.
No show will incur the full session fee. If you have extenuating circumstances that might explain your absence and justify waiving or lessening this fee, please discuss with us.
